This book chronicles the birth and growth of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) over the past 50 years and mirrors the dynamism of its Founders who were able to both cultivate Islamic values and maintain justice and fairness to all. The book shows how the JNI was, at that time, the dynamic “Umbrella Organisation” that embraced all Muslims – from the Kanuri in Borno to the Fulani in Sokoto and the Yoruba in Lagos. The JNI also embraced all Muslim Organisations – from Munazzamatu Fityanil Islam in Kano to Shamsu Suudie Islamic Society in Ibadan and Ansar-U-Deen Society in Lagos. Those were the times when Nigerian Muslims spoke with one voice and acted in unison. That enabled the Muslim Leadership, under the Premier of Northern Nigeria, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, to succeed in both promoting the cause of Islam and in maintaining peaceful co-existence with non-Muslims.
.
The book concludes with brief suggestions on how the JNI can be used as the veritable medium for bringing back unity, peace, stability, security, progress and development to Nigeria. This is especially that His Eminence Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III and other JNI Leaders are now poised on imbibing Muslim unity, educating Muslims and non-Muslims on the correct tenets and virtues of Islam and extending hands of friendships to adherents of other Faiths. By the grace of Allah, the success of this move will dissolve Nigeria’s insecurity challenges and make the Nation great. The new JNI, under His Eminence Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, can achieve this!
